Drop-Stitch Core Engineering
Thousands of high-tenacity polyester threads connect the top and bottom PVC layers, creating an internal tension structure that delivers near-hard-hull rigidity at 12-15 PSI. This construction �?originally developed for professional racing paddle boards �?provides unmatched stiffness-to-weight ratio. Every drop-stitch core is tested for thread tension uniformity, delamination resistance, and pressure retention over 72-hour cycles.
PVC & Hypalon Material Science
Wavefella uses multi-layer laminated PVC (for recreational SUPs and kayaks) and CSM Hypalon rubber (for commercial models). PVC is fusion-welded at high frequency to eliminate seam delamination, then UV-stabilized for prolonged sun exposure. Hypalon provides superior chemical resistance and flexibility in extreme temperatures (-30°C to 80°C). All materials are tested for tensile strength (per ISO 37), abrasion (ISO 5470), and accelerated UV aging (ISO 4892).
Hull Design & Hydrodynamics
Hull profiles are engineered for specific water conditions. Deep-V entry lines cut through chop and reduce spray. Wide planing surfaces provide primary stability at rest. Rocker curves are tuned for maneuverability versus tracking. Every hull is CFD-optimized and then validated through real-water testing across lake, river, and coastal environments. The result: predictable handling, reduced drag, and confident glide.
Pressure & Integrity Testing
Every Wavefella product undergoes multi-stage pressure testing. Drop-stitch cores are inflated to 1.5x rated PSI and held for 24 hours to verify structural integrity. Seam weld samples are tested for peel strength (per ISO 6133). Completed products are subjected to 100% inflate-hold-deflate cycles with continuous pressure monitoring. CE certification requires documented pass rates across all pressure and integrity protocols.
